City Colleges of Chicago: Employer-Assisted Housing
Qualified CCC employees can now get up to $7,500 in down payment and/ or closing cost assistance toward the purchase of a new home.
Each eligible CCC employee must attend a first time homebuyer class with a HUD-certified housing counseling agency and be:
- A full-time CCC employee (income restrictions apply)
- A first time home buyer* in the City of Chicago
- Committed to working five (5) more years with CCC
* defined as not having owned property for three (3) years
The assistance is:
- An interest-free loan forgiven at the end of the 5th year
- $7,500 to purchase/live in a new Plan for Transformation development
- $3,000 to purchase/live anywhere else in the City
